Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight across long distances, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the integrity of cargo. This role requires a strong focus on safety, adherence to regulations, and excellent driving skills. Candidates with experience in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and automotive repair are preferred to support efficient operations and vehicle maintenance.
Duties
- Operate heavy-duty trucks over long distances, adhering to all safety and traffic regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on trucks to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with freight handling, including loading, unloading, and inventory checks
- Maintain accurate logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding routes, schedules, and delivery status
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state transportation laws and company policies
Experience
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Prior experience in long haul or freight trucking preferred
- Knowledge of forklift operation and freight handling procedures is a plus
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation and basic automotive repair is advantageous
- Ability to operate large vehicles safely over extended periods and across diverse terrains
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and safety protocols
