Position Overview:
Mi'kmaw Cultural Foundation Inc. is seeking a reliable and motivated General Labourer to join our Job Creation Partnership (JCP) project in Stephenville.
The position will support ongoing work to build, improve, and develop our Community Hub and Outdoor Cultural Grounds. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys physical work, working outdoors, and contributing to meaningful community infrastructure.
Starting August 24 and finishing October 30, 2026
Duties & Responsibilities:The General Labourer will assist with:
- Construction and basic carpentry
- Landscaping and site development
- Development of outdoor cultural spaces
- General site preparation and cleanup
- Maintenance and improvement of community infrastructure
- Moving materials, tools, and equipment
- Other general labour duties related to the project
Qualifications & Requirements:Applicants must:
- Be eligible to participate in the Job Creation Partnership (JCP) Program, including EI eligibility requirements
- Be comfortable performing physical and outdoor work
- Be dependable, punctual, and able to work consistently
- Work effectively as part of a team
- Be willing to learn and follow instructions
- Be able to safely perform general labour duties
Previous experience in construction, carpentry, landscaping, or general labour is an asset but is not required.
Compensation:
$640 per week – Full-Time
