As part of our continued expansion in childcare and early learning education, we are launching our Early Childcare Support Certificate Program, designed to provide flexible online self-paced learning combined with instructor-led training to prepare students with practical, job-ready skills for the Canadian childcare sector.
About Role :
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Early Childcare Support Certificate Instructor to deliver engaging live online instruction and support adult learners throughout their educational journey.
The program follows a blended delivery model consisting of:
- Online Self-Paced Learning
- Instructor-Led Live Sessions ( 2 Days per week )
As an Instructor, you will facilitate live classes, reinforce self-paced learning, assess student progress, and help students develop the knowledge, practical skills, and professional competencies required to work in Canadian childcare and early learning environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Student Learning
- Deliver engaging live online classes aligned with the approved curriculum and program learning outcomes.
- Facilitate interactive discussions that encourage participation, collaboration, and critical thinking among adult learners.
- Teach topics including child development, health and safety, communication, behaviour guidance, learning through play, professionalism, and supporting children's overall development.
- Reinforce self-paced learning modules through instructor-led sessions, demonstrations, and practical examples.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive virtual classroom environment.
Student Support & Academic Success
- Mentor and support students throughout the program.
- Respond to student questions and provide academic guidance in a timely manner.
- Monitor student participation, attendance, and academic progress.
- Encourage student engagement and promote successful program completion.
- Identify students requiring additional academic support and provide appropriate guidance and referrals.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Evaluate quizzes, assignments, case studies, and classroom activities.
- Provide constructive, timely, and meaningful feedback to support student success.
- Assess student achievement using established evaluation criteria and academic standards.
- Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and academic records within the Learning Management System (LMS).
Academic Quality & Professional Practice
- Deliver instruction consistent with Canadian childcare practices and program learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with Academic Management and fellow instructors to maintain instructional excellence.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and continuous program improvement initiatives.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and academic integrity in all teaching activities
Qualifications
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators in Ontario is strongly required.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience working in childcare, daycare, preschool, kindergarten, before-and-after school programs, or other early learning environments.
- Minimum 2 years of teaching, training, mentoring, or facilitating adult learners in Early Childhood Education in a Private Career College or post-secondary environment is required.
- Experience delivering online or blended learning is preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development, play-based learning, health and safety, positive behavior guidance, and Ontario childcare practices.
- Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable teaching through Zoom and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
