Torq Transloading is a trusted leader in energy logistics solutions, committed to safe, efficient, and responsible operations across Western Canada. Our transloading facility plays a critical role in supporting customers through reliable rail, logistics, and terminal operations.
We are currently seeking a reliable, safety-focused Transload Operator to join our team in Unity SK. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role, working primarily outdoors (approximately 90% of the time), with some administrative and documentation responsibilities. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, values safety, and enjoys working in an operational, team-based environment.
The successful candidate MUST be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and fitness test.
Key Responsibilities
As a Transload Operator, you will:
· Safely load and unload products (including HCL and methanol) using approved equipment, fittings, and procedures
· Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of railcars, equipment, and work areas
· Weigh trucks and manage load tracking using the Cardinal scale system
· Complete required documentation, including loading/unloading records, railcar paperwork, and tickets
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite, including proper storage of tools and equipment
· Perform basic equipment maintenance and report any issues, hazards, or operational concerns promptly
· Monitor inventory levels of tools, supplies, and materials, and communicate needs proactively
· Work collaboratively with Operations, including fellow Operators, administration, and the Terminal Manager
· Follow all company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and contribute to a strong safety culture
· Support general site operations and perform other duties as required
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and fitness test (required)
- Previous labour, industrial, or outdoor work experience
- H2S, First Aid, and TDG certifications (nice to have but preference will be given to candidates with these certifications)
- Track mobile or skid steer/heavy equipment certification (nice to have)
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and data entry)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to follow procedures and work effectively within a team
- Strong reliability, work ethic, and organizational skills
- Basic math skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physically demanding work (lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, etc.)
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
No formal education is required. Training will be provided based on experience and aptitude.
