To maintain our high standards of safety and quality, we are seeking a highly skilled Weld Fitter who is an expert in multi-metal fabrication.
Job Summary
We are looking for a precision-focused Weld Fitter with a minimum of 5 years of experience. The successful candidate must have proven expertise in both Carbon Steel and Aluminum fabrication. This is a non-negotiable requirement for this role, as our highway products utilize both materials extensively. You will be responsible for the layout, fitting, and welding of components according to strict structural specifications.
Core Responsibilities
- Precision Fitting: Read and interpret complex blueprints to layout, align, and fit components for highway railings and sign structures.
- Dual-Material Fabrication: Perform high-quality fitting and welding on Carbon Steel, Aluminum, and Stainless Steel.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all fabrications meet CWB and MTO standards, maintaining tight tolerances for structural integrity.
- Tack Welding: Execute clean, strong tack welds to secure components for final production.
- Safety & Maintenance: Operate shop equipment (grinders, saws, overhead cranes) safely and maintain a clean workstation.
Required Skills & Qualifications (Strict Requirements)
- Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in a structural metal fabrication shop.
- Mandatory Material Expertise: Extensive, hands-on experience with BOTH Carbon Steel and Aluminum is a deal-breaker for this position.
- Certifications: Must hold valid CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) tickets.
- Preference given to candidates with current tickets for both CSA W47.1 (Steel) and CSA W47.2 (Aluminum).
- Technical Literacy: Advanced ability to read structural drawings and welding symbols.
- Proficiency: Skilled in MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welding processes.
Compensation & Benefits (2026)
- Hourly Rate: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour (Based on experience and the breadth of valid CWB tickets).
- Hours expected is 44 min per week typically Mon-friday shift 44 HRS to 50 HRS not including Saturdays as per supervsior ask
