Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer specializing in Avionics Systems to join our innovative aerospace team. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex system design and development projects, ensuring the integration of advanced avionics solutions.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible and support the timely integration of systems, such as AFCS, Communication (VHF, HF, SATCOM, Datalink), Navigation (ADF, VOR, ILS, DME, TCAS, Transponder, IRS, GPS, FMS, Weather Radar), Displays (EFIS, EICAS, HUD, SVS), Information/Maintenance & Recording (IMS, OMS, Data load, CVR, FDR, AHMS), etc. on the aircraft.
- Support the definition and management engineering system and subsystem requirements to ensure safety, certification & aircraft design requirements and objectives are met
- Work with the system suppliers as well as other interfacing suppliers and disciplines to ensure the system is properly designed to be integrated smoothly on the aircraft and meet certification requirements
- Witness or participate in engineering-related certification tests, inspections, and/or audits
- Review and Approve Compliance Reports on behalf of in accordance with approved Certification Plans
- Ensure aircraft avionics are maintained per required regulations, regulatory standards, and guidance material
- Approve and recommend Certification Plans on behalf of to secure regulatory authority approval.
- Support any engineering design related issues and bring them to closure
Experience
- You hold a university degree in Electrical, Electronics, Software, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
- Current or candidate-for DAD / DAR status preferred. (Has met the requirements of Transport Canada AWM 505 "Delegation of Authority" 505.409).
- You are familiar with and have a working relationship with TCCA, EASA or FAA.
- You are knowledgeable with civil airworthiness FAR Part 25 avionics regulations and industry advisory material including RTCA and ARP documents for applicable TCCA, EASA and FAA avionics certification requirements.
- You have extensive working experience with system design, test and certification requirements of aircraft auto flight, communication, navigation including FMS, indicating/recording systems, onboard maintenance systems, etc.
- Knowledge and/or Experience in Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) systems.
- You are familiar with the industry standards DO-178, DO-160, DO-254, ARP4754 and ARP4761.
- You have strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- You have excellent problem-solving skills, work planning structure and prioritization.
- You can work well in a team environment.
- You are willing to travel.
- This position has a hybrid work schedule and requires mandatory 2 days per week in the office
Pay: $100,000.00-$200,000.00 per month
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Montréal, QC
