Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Tow Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely towing vehicles, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring efficient operations. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, vehicle handling, and safety procedures to deliver exceptional service in various situations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate tow trucks and related equipment to recover and transport vehicles.
- Assist customers with vehicle recovery, ensuring a positive experience through professional communication and service.
- Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on tow trucks and equipment to ensure optimal functioning.
- Manage paperwork accurately, including documentation of services performed and vehicle details.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during operations.
- Coordinate with dispatchers and other team members to prioritize jobs and ensure timely completion.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor issues with vehicles or equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tow truck and work area.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience in automotive repair is preferred.
- Customer service skills to handle interactions professionally and courteously.
- Experience operating forklifts or similar equipment is a plus.
- Prior experience in commercial driving or towing is advantageous.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and lift heavy objects when necessary.
