The intern for the Business Engagement team will report directly to the Sr. Manager, Business Engagement. The Business Engagement Team at Loblaw is the bridge between the business and IT. Our role is to ensure that we assist in offering valuable IT solutions to our business partners that enhances and improves their business. The role will be based out of our corporate head office in Brampton, Ontario at 1 President’s Choice Circle, with exposure to other office locations, such as Shoppers Drug Mart office in North York, Digital, PC Financial, and Joe Fresh in downtown Toronto.
What You’ll Do:
Participate in business planning discussions for multi-year business roadmaps
Support the IT Capital Planning Process by creating data views allowing for decision making
Provide support to leadership in creating and preparing material reflecting our evolving operating model as we transition to a product centric organization
Work with our Business Engagement Managers and Business Analysts (BAs) to capture, consolidate, and communicate information supporting projects and internal initiatives
Actively participate in our Business Analyst Community of Practice to assist with process support and tools
Gain experience in business requirements gathering and business case development as it relates to IT Enhancements and Projects
Responsible for assisting the Business Engagement team collaborate with our Innovation Team to bring new technology ideas to our business partners
Support the Customer Satisfaction process by conducting data analysis allowing for decision making and supporting action plan development
Organize and conduct project and portfolio meetings on a weekly cadence
Maintain and track logs of team initiatives and deliverables
Assist with the follow-up and tracking of project and portfolio action items
What You’ll Need:
Must have analytical skills with the ability to solve problems within a complex, multi-dimensional environment
Must be proactive in learning and highly self-motivated
Must have excellent communication, presentation, written and multi-tasking skills
Must have working knowledge of Excel skills
Must be flexible and demonstrate adaptability to accept new tasks (planned and unplanned) with minimal supervision
IT application, methodologies, and/or business process experience will be an asset
