The Opportunity
Reporting to the Production Equipment Manager, the Millwright will read and understand complex mechanical/electrical blueprint drawings and schematics for troubleshooting purposes, handle troubleshooting and repair of production machinery related to pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical or mechanical failure in a timely manner. Millwright takes initiative, displays problem-solving and decision-making abilities, has excellent organizational skills and maintains a positive, professional attitude in a fast-paced and changing work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Installing, troubleshooting and performing corrective and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment in a production environment
- Reading and interpreting job specifications and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Laying out and preparing the base or foundation prior to installing machinery
- Maintain a preventative maintenance program for plant equipment
- Setting up and operating welding, brazing and soldering equipment
- Work as part of a team to troubleshoot and repair equipment, including disassembling and reassembling machinery
- Perform work in a manner consistent with plant safety, housekeeping standards, and quality checks
- Be part of an effective work planning process
- Working independently and with others to solve mechanical and technical problem
- Communicating, persuading, and explaining to others what needs to be done
- Shift is Monday to Friday
Qualifications:
- Red Seal as an Industrial Mechanic
- Valid Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) license or other trades with equivalent experience
- Five years' experience as an Industrial Mechanic in a manufacturing/production environment
- Proven mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to set up and operate all machines common to the trade
- Welding experience
- Ability to use computer drawing software
- Outside the box thinking to design/create prototypes
- Outstanding work ethic with exceptional discipline, attendance, and safety record
- Willingness to take initiative and ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
