Overview
We are seeking an outgoing, friendly person who takes pride in their work, to fill an immediate opening we have for a Retail Associate at our homewares store Perch, located in Courtenay. This role involves helping customers, handling cash and card transactions, managing some incoming freight, pricing and light cleaning of shelves etc . The ideal candidate will have great customer service skills, is enthusiastic and can work independently.
Duties
- Greet customers professionally and assist them with a range of products.
- Accurately managing cash transactions and bank machine
- Handle customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Helping with incoming stock, pricing and restock shelves
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the sales floor
- Managing opening and closing procedures
- Have the necessary math skills for cash handling and POS transactions
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Professional and friendly manner when interacting with customers over the phone
- Ability to work well with others or independently without issue.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
- Other duties as required
Requirements : You should be a self starter, be able to work independently, work a full day and lift 15 to 20 pounds without any issues.
Experience in a retail setting would be great but we will train the right person. Please note this is not a summer job and you will be required to work during on some week days into the fall. Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
