Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Rope Access Technician to join our team specializing in high-rise billboard installation and maintenance throughout the Downtown Toronto area. This is a physically demanding, year-round mainly outdoor position that offers the opportunity to work on some of Toronto's most recognizable buildings and advertising structures.
The successful candidate will perform rope access work involving billboard installations, digital video board cleaning and maintenance, and occasional general building maintenance while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. A typical week is mostly daytime work from 7am-3pm, some weeks will be a combination of day time and night shifts. Weekend work is rare but offers additional pay.
Duties
- Install and remove large-format billboard advertising on high-rise buildings.
- Clean and maintain digital video boards and display systems.
- Perform rope access inspections and basic building maintenance tasks.
- Set up, inspect, and safely operate rope access equipment in accordance with SPRAT safe work procedures.
- Follow all company safety procedures, fall protection requirements, and site-specific safety protocols.
- Work effectively as part of a rope access team to complete projects safely and efficiently.
- Complete daily equipment inspections and maintain accurate safety documentation.
- Communicate professionally with Level 3 supervisors, coworkers, and site personnel.
Qualifications
Required
- Current SPRAT Level 1 or IRATA Level 1 certification (or higher).
- Valid Working at Heights certificate.
- Ability to work safely at significant heights using rope access techniques.
- Physically fit with the strength and endurance to perform demanding manual work.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions throughout the year.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and attention to detail.
- Reliable transportation to worksites within the Greater Toronto Area.
Preferred
- Previous rope access experience.
- Background in construction, building maintenance, window cleaning, signage installation, or another trade involving work at heights.
- Experience using power tools and hand tools.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's licence.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
- Lift, carry, and maneuver materials and equipment weighing up to 60 lbs or more with assistance when required.
- Climb, descend, and work comfortably on ropes for extended durations.
- Work safely in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold and rain.
