Port Hawkesbury Paper is currently seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our paper production team as a Labourer. This full-time position reports to the department supervisor and would work in various departments involved in the papermaking process. It requires the ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision. There will be opportunities for advancement via the internal operator bidding process.
Work schedule is varied - Monday to Friday (days). May also require shift work including weekends (days and nights), depending on the assignment.
Skills/Competency Requirements:
- Ability to work safely and independently in a fast-paced work setting
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving and time management skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Flexibility to work overtime and shiftwork
- Ability to move throughout the plant on a regular/daily basis (including climbing multi-levels of stairs)
Experience/Education Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Post-secondary education considered an asset
- Must pass a depth perception test
- Experience in a manufacturing role would be an asset
Compensation: Pay rate is $27.81/hour per Collective Agreement. Port Hawkesbury Paper offers a comprehensive benefits package, and a challenging, rewarding work environment.
