The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS), invites applications from physicians trained in Developmental Pediatrics or Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine for a clinical position within the Division of Developmental Pediatrics, located at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital. The position is full-time 1.0 FTE, with 60-70% clinical service and 30-40% academic duties.
The successful applicant will join seventeen members of the Division of Developmental Pediatrics, comprised of developmental pediatricians, pediatric rehabilitation medicine specialists, Ph.D. psychologists, and pediatric nurse practitioners in providing interdisciplinary care for children with a variety of developmental disabilities and rehabilitation needs.
The Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital offers inpatient and outpatient assessment and inter-professional services for children with neurodiversity. A dedicated group of pediatric specialists provide medical coverage for outpatient clinics and a 10-bed tertiary Pediatric Intensive Rehabilitation Inpatient program. The successful applicant will provide medical expertise within interdisciplinary teams caring for children and youth with neurodiversity. Depending on the applicant’s experience, the work will be within diagnostic and treatment programs, including autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, learning disorders, and neuromotor disorders. In addition to clinical care, our division is active in classroom-based and clinical teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, has a fully accredited Developmental Pediatrics subspecialty-training program through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in addition to fellowship opportunities. The successful applicant will engage with learners from these programs and the University of Alberta General Pediatrics program, the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation program, and elective medical students from across Canada and abroad.

Applicants must hold an MD and have completed a specialty residency in Developmental Pediatrics, or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency with a fellowship in Pediatric Physiatry. The applicant must be eligible to obtain a specialist license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and hold appropriate liability coverage.
Remuneration for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be based on the income scale of a competitive and highly successful academic alternate funding plan.
