The Explorer Hotel is seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team in Yellowknife. This role is ideal for a skilled and dependable professional with a strong culinary background who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Position Summary
The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing and executing high-quality dishes while maintaining the standards and reputation of The Explorer Hotel. This position reports directly to the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain consistency, quality, and portion control across all dishes
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols
- Assist with prep work, station setup, and service execution
- Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation
- Support inventory management and minimize food waste
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of professional kitchen or culinary experience
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment
- Strong time management and teamwork skills
- Culinary training or certification is an asset
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
