Job Description:
The Construction Site Coordinator provides administrative and coordination support to the construction project team in a fast-paced and fluid site environment. Reporting to the project Director, this role supports day-to-day communication, documentation, tracking, and coordination with construction trades, consultants, inspectors, and internal project stakeholders. The ideal candidate has at least minimal construction site experience, familiarity with construction terminology, materials, and details, and the ability to read and understand construction terminology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative and coordination support to the project Director and construction project team.
- Communicates effectively on a daily basis, both verbally and in writing, with construction trades, consultants, inspectors, and internal stakeholders.
- Assists with organizing, tracking, and maintaining project documentation, correspondence, drawings, specification, and site-related records.
- Reviews construction drawings and specifications to support coordination, issue tracking logs, and follow-up with project team members.
- Supports the coordination of site activities, meeting notes, action items, schedules, and project deliverables as directed.
- Assists with the distribution of drawings, revisions, reports, and other construction documentation to appropriate stakeholders.
- Helps identify and escalate coordination items, missing information, or documentation gaps to the Project Director.
- Performs general administrative tasks including document control, meeting preparation, filing, tracking logs, printing, scanning, and project updates.
Primary Objectives:
- Provides the Project Director and construction team with organized, accurate, and timely administrative and coordination support.
- Supports effective communication and documentation flow between construction trades, consultants, inspectors, and internal project stakeholders.
- Contributes to the successful coordination of construction activities by helping maintain project records, follow up on action items, and support daily site operations.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Minimal construction site experience with a willingness to[GU1] learn and grow within a construction environment.
- Familiarity with construction terminology, materials, methods, and details.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and related project documentation.
- Excellent computer skills with working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced and fluid construction environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow direction and provide clear updates.
- Physically fit and able to support site-related coordination activities as required.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education in construction management, architectural technology, engineering technology, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Minimal construction site experience required; previous exposure to construction, development, architecture, engineering, or project coordination is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, documentation, and site coordination practices is considered an asset.
Physical Demands & Environment:
- Available to work in the GTA with potential travel to project sites as required, Mobile site only.
- Must be physically fit and able to work within an active construction site environment.
- May be required to walk construction sites, climb stairs, stand for extended periods, and move between active work areas.
- General office and site trailer work may involve sitting and using a computer for prolonged periods of time.
- May be required to handle drawings, samples, site documentation, or light materials as part of daily coordination activities.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing, and team-oriented environment.
