Overview
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our dealership team. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring a seamless and positive service experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, automotive knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. Prior dealership or mechanic experience is highly preferred, but we welcome candidates eager to learn and grow within the automotive industry.
Duties
- Greet customers promptly and professionally upon arrival, establishing a welcoming environment
- Listen carefully to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues and service needs
- Provide detailed explanations of recommended services and repairs, ensuring customer understanding
- Generate repair orders, estimate costs, and communicate timelines effectively
- Upsell additional services or maintenance based on vehicle needs to maximize customer satisfaction and dealership revenue
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper documentation of all financial exchanges
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any further questions or concerns
- Maintain organized records of service history, customer interactions, and sales activities
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or mechanic background is highly desirable, providing strong mechanical knowledge
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients
- Strong sales aptitude with experience in upselling services in an automotive setting
- Mechanical knowledge to explain repair procedures clearly and accurately
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with customers and team members
- Ability to handle cash transactions responsibly with attention to detail
- A proactive attitude with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of automotive repair processes and dealership operations is a plus
