At SMS Equipment our Corporate Finance, Risk and Process Analyst have an intermediate level of experience in financial, operational and sales aspects in an organization. In this role, the incumbent will prepare reports, review contracts and participate in operational audits. We are looking for a candidate who will bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and positivity to the team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Risk Management. Review contracts to identify legal, risk and commercial issues. Review proposals to identify risk areas and bring recommendations to the appropriate personnel’s attention. Manage the contract process including follow up with business owners to review outstanding items and revise contacts as required.
Projects and Financial Modeling. Prepare capitol project business write up, documentations on real estate transactions and scenario analysis on large model dealing. Prepare large deal write up packages and complete WACC and ROIC calculations. Provide project management support for capital projects.
Operational Audits and Business Process Improvement Projects. Identify the risks and control gaps in business processes and conduct research to provide process solutions and risk mitigation strategies partnering with business owners. Create process documentation which identifies key controls, mitigating controls and any significant weaknesses and assess the design of processes and internal controls for efficiency and effectiveness.
Equipment Sales Support and Monthly Reporting. Assist in annual budget preparation for Mining Sales, respond to any questions from Mining Sales such as ones about FX rates and interest. Develop monthly reports with BI team and review with appropriate business units to obtain variance explanations.
Qualifications:
This position requires a minimum 5 years’ experience in Finance/Accounting and a related university degree combined with an accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) and/or advanced finance degree and/or a finance designation (CFA).
Other qualifications include but are not limited to:
Excellent customer service, conflict resolution, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
Ability to perform effectively in a fast paced, multi-project and dynamic environment.
Thorough knowledge of computer software application typically used in a corporate accounting office (i.e. Excelm T-value, etc.)
Ability to think and perform as a business partner.
Experience in reviewing legal documents for risk management and business issues is an asset.
Bilingual in both French and English is an asset.
