We are seeking an Associate Lawyer with 3-6 years of experience in Wills, Estates, Trusts, and Estate Litigation to join a respected and growing practice. This opportunity offers direct mentorship from a highly regarded King's Counsel while handling a diverse mix of estate planning, administration, trust matters, and estate disputes.
Advise clients on estate planning, estate administration, trust matters, and estate litigation issues
Draft wills, powers of attorney, personal directives, trusts, and related estate planning documents
Manage probate and estate administration files from inception to completion
Handle estate litigation matters, including contested wills, capacity disputes, undue influence claims, fiduciary disputes, and trust-related conflicts
Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, affidavits, briefs, and other litigation materials
Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations
Collaborate closely with senior lawyers on complex estate and trust matters
Build and maintain strong client relationships while delivering exceptional client service
Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent degree from an accredited law school
Active membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta
3-6 years of experience in wills, estates, and trust law
Demonstrated estate litigation experience, including contested wills, capacity disputes, fiduciary matters, or related proceedings
Strong legal research, drafting, advocacy, and analytical skills
Ability to independently manage files while contributing to a collaborative team environment
Excellent communication, judgment, and client relationship management skills
Family law experience is considered an asset
