Part Time Supported Independent Worker

The Supported Independent Living Worker assists adults with a Developmental Disability and or Dual Diagnosis to live within their community and ensure the provision of necessary and/or appropriate support services. The S.I.L. Worker will act as Case Manager/Advocate for all individuals on their caseload. Position is 48 hours in a two-week period.

The successful incumbent will hold a post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Services or a combination of relevant education, skills, training, experience and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and with outside professionals.

Priority will be given to the candidate with exemplary verbal and written communication and computer skills. Data entry and report writing are requirements in this position.

The incumbent will have the relevant skills to assist individuals with a variety of needs promoting independence and autonomy based on a comprehensive understanding of the individual’s goals, capabilities and history.

Successful completion of Standard First Aid and CPR-Level A prior to employment commencing. Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification is required.
