Job Summary
The Draftsperson is responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings and production documentation for stone fabrication and installation projects. Working closely with project managers, production personnel, and installation teams, this role converts field measurements, templates, and customer specifications into detailed shop drawings for marble, granite, quartz, and other natural and engineered stone products. The Draftsperson ensures all drawings meet project requirements, manufacturing standards, and quality expectations.
Duties
- Prepare detailed shop drawings, layouts, and fabrication drawings for countertops, vanities, fireplaces, wall cladding, staircases, and other custom stone products.
- Create CNC-ready drawings and production files using CAD software.
- Coordinate with project managers, estimators, production staff, and installers to resolve design and fabrication issues.
- Verify dimensions, material selections, edge profiles, cutouts, seam locations, and installation details.
- Revise drawings to reflect customer requests, site conditions, and approved change orders.
- Maintain organized project documentation and drawing revisions.
- Assist production by providing clear fabrication instructions and technical support.
Skills
- Experience in the stone, marble, granite, quartz, millwork, cabinetry, or construction industry is preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
