Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 months contract (with possibility of extension/conversion)
Summary of the Role
The successful candidate will provide operational support within the Operations and Business Services function. The role involves processing and completing back-office financial requests and transactions, reviewing and updating information within internal systems, collaborating with internal stakeholders, participating in team huddles, and ensuring all work is completed accurately and within established timelines.
The successful candidate may also contribute to analysis and reporting for critical projects or special initiatives that strengthen the operating model, improve processes, and elevate service quality.
Typical Day-to-Day Responsibilities
· Provide a broad range of operational support and perform general to specialized transactions and/or other processing activities within the Operations and Business Services function.
· Process and complete back-office financial requests and transactions accurately and within established timelines.
· Review and update information within internal systems.
· Support partners with incoming transactions, validating information as needed to perform adjustments within established authority levels.
· Execute transactions accurately, on time, and in accordance with established guidelines and procedures while adhering to formal or informal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
· Refer or escalate processing and operational issues as required, using a solid understanding of the issue to connect with the appropriate function or partner and facilitate resolution.
· Interact with partners by responding to requests in an effective and timely manner.
· Participate in team huddles and collaborate with internal stakeholders.
· Support the timely and accurate completion of business processes.
· Prioritize and manage workload to meet SLA requirements for service and productivity.
· Handle high volumes of work while adhering to strict deadlines.
· Investigate and escalate non-standard or high-risk activities as appropriate.
· Identify opportunities to improve service delivery.
· Actively review internal processes and activities and provide ideas for process improvement.
· May contribute to analysis and reporting on critical projects or special initiatives that strengthen the operating model, improve processes, and elevate service quality.
Customer & Service Responsibilities
· Execute transactions accurately, on time, and in line with established guidelines and procedures.
· Maintain service quality while meeting formal or informal SLA requirements.
· Respond to partner requests effectively and within established timelines.
· Validate information when supporting incoming transactions and adjustments within authority levels.
· Escalate operational or processing issues to the appropriate function or partner.
· Identify opportunities to improve service delivery.
Compliance & Risk Responsibilities
· Understand internal and industry regulations and trends, remain informed of emerging issues, and apply appropriate due diligence in adherence with operating policies and procedures.
· Consistently exercise discretion when managing correspondence, information, and confidential matters.
· Investigate and escalate non-standard or high-risk activities as appropriate.
· Adhere to enterprise frameworks and methodologies related to operations activities, including Anti-Money Laundering and Business Continuity Management.
· Comply with the Bank Code of Conduct.
· Adapt to changing policies and procedures while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including:
o VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
o Pivot Tables
o Conditional Formatting
o Formulas
o Data analysis functions
· Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
· Understanding of Money Movement and registered and non-registered products, including:
o Options
o Margin
o Foreign Exchange spots and forwards
o Money Market deposits
o Transfers involving locked-in registered products
· Knowledge of assets and securities.
· Understanding of registered and non-registered account types and associated investment assets.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
· Previous experience in banking or financial services operations.
· General knowledge of the wealth management industry.
· Familiarity with account transfer systems and related operational processes.
· Experience in a transfer-processing related role.
· Experience with registered and non-registered account products, including locked-in registered products and Margin.
· Knowledge of Global and Wealth Shared Services platforms.
· Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE).
