We are looking for a Laptop Deployment Technician to support a large-scale device refresh initiative for a financial services environment in Toronto, Ontario. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a hands-on desktop support specialist who can prepare, deploy, and replace laptops efficiently while delivering a positive end-user experience. The successful candidate will handle imaging, configuration, troubleshooting, and shipment coordination, while working with a high daily volume of devices across multiple branch locations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and configure incoming laptops for end users by completing imaging, setup, and quality checks before deployment.
- Replace existing devices with newly provisioned laptops and ensure users receive the equipment and guidance needed for a smooth handoff.
- Resolve Level 2 desktop support issues related to hardware, Office 365 applications, Outlook, Excel, and general workstation performance.
- Support device enrolment and management activities using Intune, Azure, and Active Directory tools.
- Process a high volume of laptop deployments each day while maintaining accuracy, organization, and service standards.
- Package and coordinate shipment of laptops to branch locations, ensuring devices are tracked and ready for distribution.
- Create and provide checklists and other user-facing instructions to help employees complete returns and exchanges correctly.
- Document incidents, service requests, and deployment updates in ServiceNow to maintain clear support records.
- Communicate clearly with end users and internal teams to troubleshoot issues, answer questions, and deliver strong customer service.
- 2-3 years of experience in desktop or PC support, including hands-on laptop deployment and troubleshooting.
- Practical knowledge of computer hardware, laptop hardware, and imaging processes for Windows-based devices.
- Experience working with Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365, Outlook, and Excel in a support capacity.
- Familiarity with Intune and Azure for device setup, management, or user support activities.
- Ability to manage repetitive deployment tasks efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Experience using ServiceNow or a similar ticketing platform for documentation and incident tracking.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with a friendly and detail-oriented approach to user support.
- Ability to follow established procedures carefully while also contributing practical recommendations when appropriate.
