Cranbrook/Kimberly –support worker position
The East Kootenay Supported Child Development program, under Community Connections Society of Southeast B.C., is looking for a support worker.
Position: 35 hours per week
Starting date: ASAP
Hourly Rate: $25.95/hour per BCGEU Collective Agreement/Step 1-Grid Level 10
Qualifications: The applicant will preferably have, their Early Childhood Education Certification and a current License to Practice (or be in process). Applicants with applicable training and work experience will be considered.
Experience working in the field of child care/early childhood development is preferred and accordingly, preference will be given to applicants who have training, skills and/or experience working with children with a range of developmental delays, disabilities and/or diverse challenges.
Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment. Also looking for someone with an understanding of and passion for inclusive practices. Able to work independently, manage various schedules and demonstrate the ability to be organized and reliable with time management, and keep track of their schedule. Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with young children and an awareness of developmentally appropriate practice.
Additional Requirements: Successful criminal record check and Membership with BCGEU
