Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Automotive Technician to join our service team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automotive repair, maintenance, and diagnostics, with the ability to perform complex repairs efficiently and accurately. The Journeyman Automotive Technician will be responsible for diagnosing issues, repairing vehicles, and ensuring customer satisfaction through quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on a variety of vehicle makes and models using advanced tools and equipment
- Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid replacements
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems
- Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly tools safely and effectively
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all team members
- Assist with vehicle inspections and prepare detailed repair reports for customers
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and ensure all tools and equipment are properly stored after use
- Collaborate with team members to complete repairs efficiently while providing excellent customer service
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Automotive Technician or similar role with dealership experience preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical components
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and repair guides
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive maintenance machinery
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various positions including standing for extended periods
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing vehicle issues
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
- Prior experience with automotive repair, maintenance, welding, or assembly is highly desirable
