Maecon Infrastructure is a leading construction firm specializing in concrete restoration of bridges, commercial and industrial infrastructure. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Foreman to join our team and oversee on-site construction activities at various jobsites all throughout Nova Scotia, with a preference for candidates with experience doing crack sealing, plug joints & waterproofing. Reporting to the Superintendent and Project Management Team, this position is responsible for directing and managing all on-site construction workers and equipment, enforcing the company’s directions, policies, procedures, and safety standards, while meeting construction deadlines.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of progressive construction industry experience in a supervisory role, preferably with previous experience in concrete construction/restoration.
- Experience doing crack sealing, plug joints & waterproofing.
- Experience running a melter machine a huge asset.
- Able to manage a team and provide guidance to your crew.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Comfortable working variable hours at various location all throughout Nova Scotia.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License, condition 15 considered an asset.
- Competent in the use of basic software such as email, communication apps etc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Foremen are responsible to lead and direct people, equipment, and resources on Maecon construction sites.
- Engage in open communication with the Superintendent and Project Managers and report any issues that could affect the project.
- Organize and coordinate the daily activities of all crew members, subcontractors, and equipment.
- Plan work in an efficient and effective manner.
- Read and interpret project plan and specifications.
- Monitor and manage employee attendance.
- Monitor the behaviours, attitudes, and actions of their crew member to ensure they do not impact the safety of themselves or their co-workers.
