Position Summary
The Sales Manager – Corporate is responsible for developing, growing, and maintaining the hotel’s corporate business segment to drive room revenue, market share, and overall hotel performance.
Reporting to the Director of Sales, and working closely with the General Manager and hotel leadership team, this position is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strong client relationships, managing existing accounts, and implementing sales strategies aligned with the hotel’s overall Sales & Marketing Plan.
The Sales Manager will actively prospect within the local and Greater Toronto Area market, respond to corporate and group opportunities, manage business travel RFPs, and leverage Marriott sales systems, programs, and Global Sales resources to maximize revenue opportunities for the hotel.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Business Development & Account Management
- Proactively identify, prospect, and secure new corporate accounts and business opportunities for the hotel.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing corporate clients to support account retention and revenue growth.
- Conduct sales calls, client meetings, site inspections, presentations, and property tours.
- Develop strategic account plans for key corporate clients and targeted prospective accounts.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently follow up on leads and potential business.
- Identify opportunities to increase hotel market share within the corporate and business travel segments.
- Represent the hotel at networking events, trade shows, industry events, workshops, and client functions as required.
Corporate Sales & RFP Management
- Manage and respond to corporate business travel RFPs and negotiated rate opportunities.
- Respond promptly and effectively to inquiries regarding corporate travel, guestroom blocks, and other sales opportunities.
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Assist the Director of Sales in developing and executing the hotel’s annual Sales & Marketing Plan.
- Develop and implement tactical sales initiatives designed to increase corporate room revenue, occupancy, and market share.
- Monitor local market conditions, competitive hotels, new developments, and emerging business opportunities within Mississauga and the surrounding GTA.
- Analyze account production, booking patterns, market trends, and sales performance to identify opportunities and areas of risk.
- Collaborate with Revenue Management and hotel leadership to ensure sales strategies support overall revenue objectives.
- Participate in revenue, sales, and business planning meetings as required.
Marriott Systems & Brand Alignment
- Utilize Marriott sales tools, systems, programs, and resources to maximize lead generation and account development.
- Maintain accurate and current account, activity, and opportunity information within applicable Marriott sales systems.
- Leverage Marriott Bonvoy, Global Sales, MI Leads, and other brand programs to support client acquisition and retention.
- Ensure sales activities and processes are aligned with Marriott brand standards and hotel expectations.
Client & Operational Support
- Work collaboratively with Front Office, Reservations, Revenue Management, Food & Beverage, Events, and other operational departments to ensure client commitments are effectively communicated and delivered.
- Support a seamless transition of confirmed business from the sales process to hotel operations.
- Respond to client concerns or service issues promptly and professionally, working with hotel leadership to achieve appropriate resolutions.
Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate sales activity, account production, pipeline, and forecasting information.
- Assist with monthly sales reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis.
- Monitor progress against established sales goals and revenue targets.
- Maintain accurate contracts, client records, correspondence, and account documentation.
- Complete required Marriott and hotel-level sales reporting within established timelines.
- Perform other duties and projects as required to support the hotel and Sales & Marketing team.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 3–5 years of progressive hotel sales experience, preferably within the corporate or business travel segment.
- Previous Marriott sales experience is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience with Marriott systems and platforms such as Opera PMS, CI/TY, One Yield, MARSHA, Marriott Bonvoy, Brandworks, MI Leads, MRDW and MarRFP is considered a strong asset.
- Post-secondary education in Hospitality, Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hotel sales, corporate account management, prospecting, and business development.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new business and build long-term client relationships.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales performance, market trends, and account production.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and related business applications.
- Ability to travel locally and attend trade shows, client events, workshops, and brand meetings as required.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays when business needs require.
- Maintain a high level of responsiveness and service throughout the client relationship.
- Prepare proposals, contracts, presentations, and other sales documentation.
- Negotiate rates and terms within established hotel guidelines while balancing client needs, market conditions, and revenue objectives.
- Coordinate with Marriott Global Sales and other brand resources to identify and maximize corporate account opportunities.
- Ensure negotiated corporate rates, account information, and related documentation are accurately maintained within applicable systems.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Primarily office and hotel-based with regular client meetings, site inspections, and property tours.
- Frequent use of computers, phones, and other office equipment.
- Sitting and standing for extended periods of time.
- Local and occasional out-of-area travel may be required for client meetings, trade shows, workshops, and brand events.
- May occasionally be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business and client needs.

Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
