Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator specializing in HVAC and Sheet Metal projects to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating with project managers and clients to ensure successful project execution. Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates for HVAC and sheet metal construction projects using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to accurately assess scope of work and material requirements.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs and pricing analysis to ensure competitive and profitable bids.
- Collaborate with project management teams, subcontractors, and clients during the bidding process to negotiate terms and clarify project details.
- Prepare detailed bid proposals, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Maintain organized records of all estimating documents, revisions, and correspondence for future reference.
- Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and new technologies relevant to HVAC and sheet metal construction.
- Assist in project management activities by providing cost control insights during project execution.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating, specifically within HVAC and sheet metal industries.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam for PDF markup and document management.
- Experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating software is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability in negotiation with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to achieve favorable terms.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple estimates simultaneously.
- Familiarity with construction pricing strategies, budgeting, and cost control techniques.
