Machine Helper – Metal Manufacturing Industry
Location: Etobicoke, ON
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $24/ hr | Shift: Days 6:45am - 2:45pm
Express Employment Professionals Woodbridge is currently recruiting for a Machine Helper on behalf of our client, a well-established company in the metal processing and manufacturing industry located in Etobicoke.
This is a great opportunity for a reliable, hands-on individual looking to build a career in metal manufacturing. The successful candidate will support machine operators across production lines, including slitting, cut-to-length, and shearing operations, while developing valuable skills in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist machine operators with daily production activities and support smooth line operations.
- Support the slitting line and other metal processing equipment through material staging, setup assistance, and packaging.
- Package steel sheets and slit materials according to specifications.
- Prepare skids and assist with skid building as required.
- Move materials to production areas using lifting equipment.
- Assist with tagging finished materials and maintaining accurate product identification.
- Follow all safety procedures and report quality concerns or hazards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of manufacturing or production experience (metal/steel experience is mandatory).
- Comfortable using hand and power tools.
- Ability to read imperial and metric measuring tapes.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Assets:
- Forklift experience, nice to have
- Overhead crane experience, nice to have
