Job Overview
Reporting directly to the Laboratory Manager the Laboratory Analyst is responsible for a wide range of duties that support analytical operations at NAVANA Labs.
The Analyst’s scope of responsibilities is largely based on completing analytical duties and verifying analysis for NAVANA Labs, as well as performing tasks in accordance with ISO 17025 compliance.
Responsibilities & Duties
Safety & Leadership
- Ensure safety is the number one priority when assessing jobs, performing work, and training new employees
- Comply with the NAVANA Safety and Operational Program
- Engage with colleagues on general safety and safety initiatives
- Communicate the safety requirements and information regarding your projects with colleagues and management
- Role model safety standards and on-the-job behaviors of leadership, a hard work ethic, fairness, and integrity
- Work safely and abide by all operational and safety policies and procedures
Analytical
- Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure sample integrity and quality control
- Receive, unpack, and inspect customer samples
- Log samples into the laboratory database and recognize and report any sample issues
- Verify/validate test methods and follow company SOPs and protocols
- Test samples according to specifically detailed instructions
- Perform quality control tests in the laboratory as necessary
- Perform calibrations of lab equipment
- Participate in the setup of new instrumentation as appropriate
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and maintain good relationships with equipment representatives
- Keep the laboratory and all equipment clean
- Perform related analytical duties as assigned
Quality
- Ensure all QA/QC standards are met
- Follow methods and SOPs and report deviations or errors as appropriate
- Complete QC testing parameters
- Perform responsibilities in relation to internal and external laboratory audits
- Perform troubleshooting tasks in response to corrective action procedures
Requirements
- Diploma or Associate Degree in related field required; Bachelor of Science degree preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in laboratory analysis
- Ability to use complex instrumentation and machines
- Knowledge of computers and databases required
- Capable of prioritizing tasks to meet goals and ensure product quality
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Must be located in commutable distance to Chetwynd, British Columbia
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $29.00-$32.00 per hour
