About the Position
We are seeking an experienced aviation professional to introduce ASCENT to Canadian operators and help them improve their training and compliance management. This position is well suited to a former Chief Pilot, Operations Manager, Training Manager, Safety Manager, or other aviation leader interested in business development. Sales experience is an asset but not required.
Compensation
$80,000–$98,000 base salary, depending on aviation and sales experience, plus commission and performance incentives. Expected total compensation is $125,000 - $150,000+, with no fixed limit on earnings.
Responsibilities
- Reach out to prospective aviation operations to introduce ASCENT and gauge their interest in using it to support their training and compliance requirements.
- Deliver professional and engaging online and in-person sales presentations using our established presentation and sales materials.
- Build relationships with aviation decision-makers and guide prospective customers through the evaluation and purchasing process.
- Maintain regular and persistent follow-up with prospects by email, telephone, web conference, and in-person meetings.
- Prepare proposals, finalize agreements, and coordinate with our team to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
- Develop strong, long-term customer relationships and help maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Identify and attend relevant aviation conferences, trade shows, and other industry events.
- Organize and lead group information sessions involving multiple aviation businesses and industry stakeholders.
- Maintain complete and accurate customer, prospect, and sales activity information in our CRM system.
- Monitor the Canadian aviation market and identify emerging opportunities.
- Collaborate with our management, marketing, client-support, and product teams on sales strategies and initiatives.
Qualifications
- Substantial professional experience in Canadian aviation.
- A strong understanding of operational and training requirements affecting CARs 702, 703, 704, and 705 operators and/or U.S. FAR parts 91, 135, 149 operations.
- The ability to communicate confidently with Chief Pilots, Operations Managers, Training Managers, Safety Managers, Quality Assurance Managers, company executives, and business owners.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- The confidence to prospect for new business, initiate cold outreach, and independently advance opportunities through the sales process.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and follow-up skills.
- A self-motivated, professional, and goal-oriented approach.
- The ability to understand and clearly demonstrate a sophisticated software platform.
- The ability and willingness to travel to customer locations and aviation-industry events.
The following would be considered strong assets:
- An established network of contacts within the Canadian aviation industry.
- Previous business-development or sales experience.
- Experience selling software, training services, or other business-to-business solutions.
- Familiarity with learning management systems, training management systems, or aviation compliance software.
- Experience using CRM software and managing a structured sales pipeline.
