Under the supervision of the Food and Beverage Floor Supervisor, the Server sets up and prepares the room for food and beverage service. Delivers food and beverages to members and guests in a fast-paced environment, with a high-level of attentive service and detail, while having the ability to anticipate and meet members’ needs. The incumbent must be a good team player, friendly, but not too familiar with members, and have an excellent understanding of the food and beverage menus and a good understanding of alcoholic beverages.
Wage $18-20/hr plus 7% sales performance bonus
- Greets and provides friendly, consistent, and friendly customer service.
- Takes and enters food and beverage orders and provides service delivery in an accurate, efficient, consistent, and timely manner.
- Sets up, clears, and cleans tables.
- Assists with grab n’ go and takeout orders.
- Keeps the restaurant area clean, sanitary, and tidy.
- Has complete knowledge of food and beverage menus, wine lists, and pairings.
- Keeps abreast of menu changes.
- Completes accurate end-of-shift reports and forwards to Food and Beverage Supervisor.
- Works efficiently and diligently with the Club’s POS system, including voiding, transferring, and reopening closed shifts and chits.
- Attends pre-shift meetings to review menus, specials, events, and other Club activities or changes.
- Uses the check list and ensures that the room is stocked and ready for service.
- Communicates with the kitchen and keeps track of orders, alerting, and apologizing for any service delays.
- Remains customer focused and nurtures an excellent dining experience.
- Communicates to supervisor and/or manager on any shortages, equipment failure, and reordering of products.
- Communicates and responds positively and efficiently to complaints and suggestions and relays information to the Food and Beverage Senior Team.
- Upsells both food and beverages menu items and special events.
- Complies with all food and beverage regulations.
- Checks members’ identification and confirms it meets legal drinking age if member looks under the age of 25.
- Complies with the standards of the Smart Serve program and the requirements of the Liquor License Act of Ontario.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures including, COVID-19, health and safety, and employment policies.
- Fulfills other duties as assigned by direct reports.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2-3-years of experience in a similar environment
- Smart Serve certified
- Excellent knowledge or beers and spirits, and excellent knowledge of wines
- Excellent food menu knowledge
- Ability to take initiative, work under pressure, and make good decisions
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Possesses computer literacy and efficiency and has good computer skills and excellent knowledge of a POS system. NorthStar POS system knowledge an asset
- Neat appearance and must conform to dress code standards
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, including diplomacy and tact.
- Excellent organization, cleanliness, and efficient skills
- First-aid, CPR, and AED certificate an asset.
- WHMIS 2015 (Global Harmonized System) an asset
- Health and safety training i.e., Occupational Health and Safety for Workers in Ontario an asset
- Background Check
