Gather data from various sources such as databases, surveys, and internal systems to ensure comprehensive and accurate data sets.
Collaborate and build relationships with clients/stakeholders to collect and document data requirements.
Generate reports and visualizations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Perform data analysis and apply analytical tools, statistical techniques, skills and processes to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, including identifying opportunities to automate data processes and improve quality and efficiency.
Carry out data activities based on documented standards and procedures.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and data governance frameworks.
Manage sensitive information in accordance with confidentiality and privacy standards, ensuring that data is handled securely at all stages.
Act as a data ambassador, promoting a data-driven culture across the organization.
Qualifications include a minimum of 4-7 years experience and a 3-year college diploma or university degree in data science, computer science or related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience. May require technical certifications or professional designations. (L5)
Proficiency in standard computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
Experience in data visualization techniques and software (e.g., Power BI or similar).
Knowledge of geospatial tools (ArcGIS and/or QGIS).
Ability to identify patterns and trends in data.
Ability to assess accuracy and reliability of data.
Familiarity with data management concepts, including data quality, data cleansing, standardization, metadata management, privacy, and security governance.
Proficiency in Excel (e.g., macros, VBA, functions, pivot tables, formulas and charts).
Communication skills, diplomacy and empathy to interpret information and deliver advice, clarify client or stakeholder needs, offer solutions, and resolve escalations in new or somewhat sensitive situations. (L3)
Ability to identify, investigate and analyze problems, identify root causes and risks, and apply technical, functional and organizational knowledge to develop solutions. (L4)
Ability to understand and ensure work is completed in compliance with applicable data and privacy policy and legislation.
Fluency in English is required, French is an asset
