Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Cantonese or Mandarin-speaking Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to provide high-quality care to diverse patient populations. The ideal candidate will support seniors, individuals with disabilities, and patients requiring assistance in assisted living, nursing homes, hospice, or home care settings. Fluency in Cantonese or Mandarin is essential to effectively communicate with clients and their families. Duties
- Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support for patients and residents
- Administer medications and monitor health status as directed by healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance patient well-being
- Support with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
- Assist with transfers, heavy lifting, and other mobility needs using proper techniques to ensure safety
- Document care provided accurately and report any changes in condition to supervising staff
- Support patients with dementia, hospice, or other specialized care requirements
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive care
Skills
- Fluency in Cantonese or Mandarin is required for effective communication with patients and families
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospice, or home care settings preferred
- Knowledge of patient care procedures including medication administration and dementia care
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate and respectful approach
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Basic understanding of cleaning protocols to maintain a hygienic environment
- Experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities is a plus
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or holidays if needed
