The Position:
The Conversion Analyst will use their computer science and technical skills to support the implementation of the Health Information System (HIS). Reporting to the HIS Integration Manager, the analyst is a part of the HIS project team and are the primary support for the data conversions they are assigned and certified to complete.

They are responsible for analyzing, extracting, and formatting external systems data in order to bring that data into the HIS application; for the setup and configuration of the HIS conversion interfaces; for loading, testing, and organizing validation of external data within HIS; and, working closely with the interface team, application teams, and technical teams to ensure that conversions meet the expectations of the end users.

Here’s what you will get to do:
Identify and escalate risks associated with technical project tasks;
Coordinate application build requirements for conversion across teams;
Communicate with technical analysts and subject matter experts;
Define the transport method by which extracted source system data will be communicated to the HIS;
Troubleshooting the data transport mechanism;
Understanding HIS data structures and documenting technical specifications detailing target data elements;
Interpret the defined scope and defined business requirements for each dataset in the creation of each technical specification
Where HL7 conversions are involved, analyze and manipulating external data into an appropriate format for filing into the HIS;
Communicating with technical and external database analysts.
Achieve certification in the vendor’s application

Here’s what you need to have:
Acollege diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and at least 3-4 years equivalent work experience.
Microsoft BizTalk development experience and Microsoft BizTalk Certified Professional an asset.
Working knowledge of the .NET 3.5/4.0/4.5 Framework, including Visual Studio 2010, Visual Studio 2012, C#, ASP.NET is an asset
Excellent database skills including SQL server, SQL queries, data access optimization, database objects creation and optimization, TSQL is an asset.
Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)
Hands-on knowledge of Health Level 7 (HL7) and Extensive Markup Language (XML) messaging standards and structures is required.
Technical training in UNIX/Linux and/or Windows, technical infrastructure in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Experience in hospital information with an understanding of translating data from one system to another, interfacing techniques system work flow, working knowledge of data feeds and integration engine technologies.
Experience supporting and/or implementing moderately complex integration projects.
Healthcare application experience an asset.
Strong analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills.
Able to learn in a self-directed, fast paced, rapidly-changing environment
Ability to analyze data, problem-solve, and clearly communicate solutions
Ability to understand organizational requirements and their impact on the technical aspects of a solution
Ability to work in a complex multi-communication-channel environment
Skill at tracking tasks, defining next steps, identifying owners, and holding people accountable
Ability to coordinate activities involving multiple players, including vendors, subject matter experts, interface engine developers, and end users, to design, configure, and test interfaces.
Ability to travel to the United States as required
