Overview
Bobcat of Comox Valley is seeking to add both a Heavy Duty Service Technician and an Apprentice Technician to our growing service team. Successful candidates will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining compact and heavy equipment in a busy dealership environment. These roles require strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, and experience working with diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Experience with compact construction and agricultural equipment is required , with Bobcat training or certification considered an asset. Preference will also be given to candidates who have Red Seal Certification. The ideal candidates will take pride in quality workmanship, work well independently and as part of a team, and be committed to providing exceptional service to our customers, while continuing to develop their technical skills and industry knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues on equipment
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections
- Inspect equipment and identify potential issues proactively
- Complete work orders efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards
- Accurately complete service reports, work orders, and documentation
- Disassemble and reassemble components and systems as needed.
- Work closely with the service writer and parts departments to ensure efficient workflow
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized work Environment
- Follow manufacturer guidlines and all dealership and safety procedures
- Assist with equipment setup, pre-delivery inspections (PDI), and reconditioning
- Test equipment to ensure proper operation after repairs
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, Mechanic, or similar role with preference given to Red Seal Certification
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately.
- Self-motivated with a proactive, solution-focused approach to completing tasks in a busy dealership environment.”
- Basic computer skills for work orders and diagnostic systems.
- Customer service orientation with clear communication skills for client interactions.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment confidently.
Pay: $43.00-$48.00 per hour
