Home Maintenance Technician (Independent Contractor)
EZ Homes is seeking reliable and skilled independent contractors to support our growing home maintenance business. This flexible opportunity is ideal for experienced handymen or maintenance professionals who enjoy helping homeowners, solving problems, and taking pride in quality workmanship.
We provide proactive home maintenance and repair services throughout Calgary, serving homeowners, seniors aging in place, independent landlords, and busy professionals who value reliability, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.
What You'll Do
· Complete a variety of residential maintenance and repair tasks.
· Troubleshoot issues and recommend practical solutions.
· Perform minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance work.
· Manage jobs from assessment and quotation through to completion.
· Communicate professionally with homeowners and team members.
· Deliver high-quality workmanship while maintaining a safe work environment.
Qualifications
· 2–5 years of handyman, maintenance, renovation, or related experience.
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to complete a wide variety of home maintenance and repair tasks independently.
· Comfortable prioritizing work and adapting to changing schedules.
· Professional, dependable, and customer-focused.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· Comfortable working on ladders, rooftops, and at heights when required.
· Proficient with smartphones, tablets, and basic computer applications.
· Alberta Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
· Clear Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Check.
· Successful completion of our home maintenance aptitude assessment.
Contractor Requirements
· Must operate as an independent contractor.
· Must provide a reliable vehicle suitable for transporting tools and materials.
· Must supply a basic set of hand and power tools required to perform residential maintenance work.
· Mileage reimbursement for approved business travel.
· Must carry appropriate insurance and registrations as required by law.
