With funding from the Canada Summer Jobs Program with Employment and Social Development Canada, SRCHC is looking to fill three (3) summer youth positions as follows:
- Health Information Clerk
- Community Service Worker
- Community Worker
These positions are expected to work onsite.

General responsibilities for all positions:
- Assist with SRCHC’s client engagement survey; connect with clients via phone, social media, Zoom or other virtual platforms; engage with clients accessing services;
- Assist in health and community projects including programs focused on food security and environmental health
- Provide administrative assistance to staff and programs i.e. data entry-
- Book Zoom and teleconference meetings, including providing any necessary technical support e.g. meeting initiation
- Assist with the development of promotional materials including, newsletters and flyers
- Assist in the day-to-day activities of the Centre as necessary
- Other duties as required
Additional responsibilities specific to Health Information Clerk:
- Work with staff members to plan SRCHC’s annual client engagement survey
- Leading client engagement survey, connect with clients and conduct interviews
- Collect and analyze qualitative data, reporting
Additional responsibilities specific to Community Service Worker:
- Conduct outreach and publicity campaigns
- Assist with the delivery of health promotion programs and summer projects and events
- Assist community groups in organizing and facilitating health and community projects including programs focused on food security and environmental health
Additional responsibilities specific to Community Worker:
- Assist in programming focused on food security
- Contact and liaise with community members to promote, support and assist with the community gardens and the weekly Good Food market
- Assist with work involving food access, i.e. participating with meal preparation, meal program distribution, the Good Food Market
Qualifications:
- Be between 15-30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
- Secondary, post-secondary, vocational or technical program education in the field of social work, social service, or health-related studies
- Interest in community health and working with marginalized groups
- Demonstrated respect for diversity, equity, anti-racism and accessibility with the ability to work collaboratively and positively with others
- Strong research, evaluation and analysis skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Interest in food security and food access
- Proficiency in the use of computer technology and various computer software applications
- Technically savvy
- Ability to work in a team environment with diverse communities
- Police clearance documentation will be required for employment
- Proof of triple COVID-19 vaccination status will be required for employment
