About the Role
Are you a natural leader with a sharp eye for automotive quality and a passion for top-tier customer service? South Pointe Toyota is looking for an Assistant Detail Manager to join our team.
In this role, you will be the driving force behind our daily operations, serving as the primary point of contact for our customers and service advisors, while helping lead and support our detailing team. You will balance high-level customer service, appointment scheduling, and proactive sales with hands-on quality control to ensure every vehicle leaves our shop in showroom condition.
Key Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):
- Customer Service & Sales Leadership: Provide exceptional service by handling inquiries (phone, email, in-person), booking appointments, and resolving customer concerns. Drive revenue by proactively upselling detailing packages and add-ons (e.g., windshield chip repair, spot polishing).
- Operations & Appointment Management: Efficiently manage the daily appointment schedule using Excel and booking software. Coordinate closely with detail supervisors and service advisors to ensure timely completion of services and smooth daily workflow
- Quality Control (QC): Conduct thorough quality checks on completed vehicles to guarantee they meet strict company standards. Assist with daily QC checks in the delivery center and promptly address any "back-jobs" to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Teamwork & Administrative Support: Write and close internal and customer-pay work orders. Support the detailing team as needed, Order and monitor supply orders/inventory, handle shop maintenance or repair needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in customer service, combined with a proven track record in a supervisor, team lead, or management role.
- Industry Knowledge: Previous experience working within a dealership environment or automotive detailing industry is highly valued.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Excel and comfortable learning dealership booking/scheduling software.
- Attributes: Exceptional communication skills, strong organizational abilities, a proactive mindset for sales/marketing, and a relentless commitment to 100% quality, customer satisfaction and department growth.
Daily Duties Include (but not limited to):
· Generating appointments through phone calls, online inquiries, and active marketing efforts.
· Conducting vehicle pre-inspections to recommend the appropriate detailing services.
· Addressing customer inquiries, concerns and upsell work as needed.
· Providing front-end assistance for detail staff, service advisors, and the sales team.
