Overview
We are looking for a caring, responsible and dependable individual to live in our home and assist an elderly gentleman and his adult Down Syndrome son.
This position would be an excellent oportunity for a nursing student, Personal Support Worker, or someone pursing a career in Health Care.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily personal care, including assistance with mobility, hygiene, medication reminders, and health monitoring.
- Support with household chores such as cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and organization to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
- Manage appointments, errands, and transportation as needed to ensure timely participation in activities or medical visits.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding personal information and adhere to privacy standards.
- Monitor safety within the home environment and respond promptly to any emergencies or concerns.
Skills
- Prior experience in caregiving or household support is preferred but not required; compassionate attitude is essential.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage household tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with patience and professionalism.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and schedules.
- Basic knowledge of health monitoring or first aid is a plus but not mandatory.
