Property Maintenance Handyman

Location: Based locally with occasional travel to surrounding communities

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Property Maintenance Technician to join our property management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining residential rental properties, completing repairs, preparing vacant units for new tenants, and responding to maintenance requests in a professional and timely manner.This position is ideal for someone who is self-motivated, reliable, and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Complete general maintenance and repair work in residential properties.
- Perform plumbing repairs such as replacing faucets, toilets, sinks, shut-off valves, and clearing drains.
- Diagnose and repair common maintenance issues.
- Complete unit turnovers including painting, drywall repairs, flooring repairs, and minor carpentry.
- Perform preventative maintenance on buildings and equipment.
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls when required.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas.
- Travel to various properties, including occasional out-of-town locations.
- Communicate professionally with tenants, office staff, and contractors.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in residential property maintenance, renovations, or a related trade.
- Strong knowledge of general repairs and handyman work.
- Plumbing experience is considered a strong asset.
- Experience with drywall, painting, flooring, and carpentry is an asset.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Physically capable of lifting, climbing ladders, and performing manual labour.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must supply and maintain a basic set of personal hand tools required to perform daily maintenance tasks.
- Ability to travel out of town for scheduled maintenance projects when required.
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
