Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Joiner Millwork Estimator to join our team. This role involves preparing accurate project estimates for custom millwork and joinery projects, ensuring competitive pricing and adherence to client specifications. Duties
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents to develop comprehensive estimates for millwork and joinery projects.
- Utilize Bluebeam and HeavyBid software to create detailed takeoffs, pricing, and bid proposals.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and suppliers to negotiate costs and ensure accurate pricing strategies.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion of estimates and bids.
- Conduct site visits when necessary to gather additional information or clarify project requirements.
- Assist in the development of project schedules, budgets, and resource planning.
- Maintain organized records of all estimating activities, correspondence, and documentation for future reference.
- Stay current with industry trends, materials, pricing fluctuations, and construction techniques relevant to millwork.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on millwork or joinery projects.
- Strong proficiency in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating or project management software.
- Excellent negotiation skills with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.
- Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and pricing strategies for custom millwork.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications accurately.
- Effective project management skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines efficiently.
- Construction experience is highly preferred; familiarity with heavy construction projects is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
