We are seeking a Manager - Accounts Receivable & Payable to join our client, a respected and growing team in Bedford, NS. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on professional who is confident in taking ownership of the full AR/AP cycle while supporting a team and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency. The ideal candidate will be tech-savvy, solutions-oriented, and comfortable using systems and automation to improve accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:

Oversee the day-to-day Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, including billing, collections, vendor payments, reconciliations, and related reporting

Lead, support, and coordinate the workload of one AR Clerk and one AP Clerk

Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce manual work

Support month-end activities related to AR/AP, including reconciliations, accruals, variance follow-up, and preparation of supporting schedules for review by the CFO

Maintain strong internal controls and ensure accounting processes are followed consistently

Monitor outstanding receivables and support effective collection processes

Oversee vendor payments and assist with resolving invoice and payment discrepancies

Prepare and review reports and reconciliations to support accurate financial reporting

Provide coaching, guidance, and day-to-day leadership

Identify opportunities to leverage technology and accounting systems to streamline workflows
Experience & Attributes for Success:
-
Post-secondary education in accounting, coupled with hands-on, relevant management experience
-
CPA or CA designation is considered an asset, but is not required
-
Experience with Yardi is a strong asset

Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and month-end processes

Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities

Tech-savvy with an interest in process improvement, automation, and using technology to improve efficiency

Strong problem-solving and follow-through skills, with the ability to carry tasks through to completion

Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with internal and external stakeholders
