Overview
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Restaurant Server to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional guest service, ensure food safety and sanitation standards, and create a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop hospitality skills within a fast-paced food service environment, utilizing experience in food handling, guest services, and POS systems such as Toast. A strong focus on time management, upselling, and customer satisfaction is essential to succeed in this position.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems like Micros POS
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining presentation standards
- Handle cash and process payments accurately, including cashiering and cash handling duties
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures are followed at all times
- Assist with food preparation when necessary, supporting kitchen staff as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, dining areas, and service stations in accordance with sanitation standards
- Manage guest inquiries or complaints professionally to ensure satisfaction
- Collaborate with team members to deliver seamless guest service in a busy restaurant setting
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment preferred but not required
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
- Basic math skills for cashiering and transaction processing
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed in a fast-paced hospitality setting
- Experience with upselling techniques and guest engagement strategies is advantageous
