Due to significant growth, Array is in search of a Logistics Manager North America to help manage our Logistics team, assist in the planning of receiving, warehousing, and shipping activities in North America. Help produce reports and statistics regularly to ensure targets are met, space utilization is optimized and help create an efficient logistics department. Oversee day to day activities of the North American operations.
Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Manages Import, Export, (North America) Local Transport, Warehousing, Transport Procurement and all logistics related activities.
- Manage all customs related activities.
- Manage the overall material flow and related transactions.
- Maintain the integrity of on-hand inventory by assuring that transactions, reversals and cycle counts are accurate and done in a timely manner.
- Ensure the accuracy of material availability and inventory value.
- Interface with Customer Service as required to develop a successful ship plan
- Establish expectations and drive improvement in department to continue to improve on-time shipments.
- Oversee development of a standard collating and shipping process to maintain accurate shipping audit yield. (KPI)
- Organize daily pick-up and delivery schedules for truck drivers.
- Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
- Identify opportunities for technology enhancements
- Oversee and executes the import/export of goods overseas and Mexico
- Co-ordinate import/export shipment of goods supporting the projects portion of the business, including, but not limited to, working with Project Managers, Sales, and clients.
- Manage the carrier processes, and external vendors/fabricators for proactive review all Projects, facilitating on-time shipment and delivery of goods to meet overall project timelines, which includes, Outbound and Export Project shipments from global fabrication vendors to customer locations.
- Effective negotiation of freight, and brokerage rates.
- Resolve logistics issues with vendors, customs, and carriers for international shipments.
- Analyze all aspects of Logistics to determine the most cost-effective means of transporting product and determine best locations to house finished goods.
- Knows all duties and responsibilities of assigned personnel.
- Actively participate in Continuous Improvement Focus 5 and 5S activities.
- Utilize daily continuous improvement processes and ensure countermeasures are adopted for continuous improvement (Kaizen)
- Manage the department to meet cost targets, utilizing associates in the best manner and overtime only as required.
- Ensure that associates are properly trained, and that training is accurately documented.
- Ensure safety and wellbeing of employees in the work area by following company policies.
- Establish and monitor carrier performance measurement systems.
- Develop and communicate relative policies and procedures for all international logistics activities.
- Maintain metrics, process documentation and create and deliver reports as required.
- Manage the overall material flow and related transactions.
- Ensure the accuracy of material availability and inventory value.
- Work with Planning to schedule and prioritize shop order picks.
- Interface with Production Supervision and Management to ensure that shop orders are prepared and staged according to the schedule set by Planning.
- Ensure that all material requested has been picked and staged in the appropriate area.
- Establish expectations and drive improvement in department to continue to improve on-time shipments.
- Maintain cleanliness of our warehouse and loading dock areas.
- Ensures all power industrial truck (PIT) equipment is in working order and PM’s and inspections are performed.
Leadership Accountabilities

Lead, develop and mentor all direct reports; conduct timely performance management reviews, provide meaningful feedback; and establish goals and objectives for each team member in alignment with the broader organizational focus.
- Track and approve all vacation and personal days for team members.
- Identify marginal performers and carry out any required development plans/corrective actions as necessary, in conjunction with Human Resources.
- Create and/or maintain an accurate and up to date skills development roadmap and competency model to support evolving business needs for both soft and technical skills.
- Define, maintain and report relative key performance indicators.
- Maintain positive employee relations; ensure the open door policy is observed and a collaborative approach is adopted.
Education:
-
Completion of a College or University Program (Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management is an asset) or equivalent industry experience.
Work Experience / Qualifications:
-
5+ Years of Experience as a Warehouse/Logistics Director or Warehouse/Logistics Manager preferred.
- 5+ Years in Supply Chain Management Or Logistics environment preferred.
- 5+ Years of managing and leading a team of 10-20 employees preferred.
- 5+ Years of North American Import/Export experience preferred.
- 5+ Years experience Mexican customs process and procedures preferred.
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ERP systems (Industrios / EPICOR knowledge is an asset).
- Experience with modern warehousing procedures as well as inventory management best practices.
- Strong ability to stay organized, manage time effectively, and meet all deadlines.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively; both verbally and written.
- Strong Interpersonal skills with the ability to create and maintain relationships with all stakeholders
- Flexibility to work extra hours when needed.
- Spanish speaking would be an asset.

Compensation Package: $105,000 - $140,000 per year and eligibility for an annual bonus. Compensation subject to annual review and increase based on inflation, cost of living, merit and performance. Compensation offered may vary depending on the applicant’s level of experience, qualifications and other factors.
