Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator/Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves operating heavy equipment, performing manual labour, and assisting with various site activities to ensure efficient project progress. The ideal candidate will have experience working around excavators as an excavation pitman and will have a strong safety focus.
Duties
- Operate excavators when needed and other heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, and graders to perform excavation, grading, and site preparation tasks.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Support construction activities by moving materials, digging trenches, backfilling, and site cleanup.
Skills
- Proven experience operating excavators and working as a pit man
- Construction experience with a focus on excavation, site development
- A valid commercial driver’s license (G) is a must for traveling to different sites
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining attention to detail.
- Physical stamina for manual labour tasks including lifting, digging, and operating machinery for extended periods.
