Under the leadership of the Project Director and the guidance of the Project Manager, the Project Officer Communication & Coordination – which is a full-time position – will play a key role in advancing the project's visibility and public outreach while supporting the effective coordination of activities. This position is responsible for delivering clear, consistent, and strategically aligned messaging, and for fostering strong communication among stakeholders, partners, and beneficiaries to support the goals of a Global Affairs Canada funded project working to support criminal case backlog reduction, criminal mediation, digital transformation, judicial education, gender-responsive justice, and public legal education in the Eastern Caribbean.
- Develop and implement communication strategies to increase project visibility and stakeholder engagement.
- Draft press releases, newsletters, social media content, and other outreach materials.
- Coordinate public legal education campaigns, ensuring messaging is gender-responsive and accessible to women and youth.
- Manage the project's online presence, including website updates and digital platforms.
- Support branding efforts by ensuring consistent use of logos, templates, and messaging across all project outputs.
- Support project procurement, logistical planning and delivery of project activities.
- Support in the preparation of reports as required by the donor, Project Director and JES senior management.
- Support the processing of consultant invoices, keeping track of expenses, and the purchase and payment of products and services.
- Maintain and update project files in an organized and systematic way according to JES procedures.
- Engage fully as a member of the JES staff team, including participating in staff meetings and other JES events, and providing support to other team members in the execution of the project, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Project Management, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in communications, project coordination, or stakeholder engagement.
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
- Experience managing social media platforms and digital communication tools.
- Proven organizational and coordination skills, with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with justice sector or development projects is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, with sound attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving and adaptability in dynamic project environments.
- Competence in maintaining organised records and documentation, and in supporting the preparation of donor and management reports.
- Familiarity with procurement and logistical planning, and the ability to support the delivery of project activities and events.
- Commitment to gender-responsive and inclusive approaches.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital communication tools.
- Ability and willingness to travel regionally.
