As we continue to grow our portfolio of premium installation projects, we are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented On-Site Supervisor / Project Manager to lead our field operations and ensure our standards of excellence are met on every job.
Position Overview
The On-Site Supervisor / Project Manager will bridge the gap between our clients, office management, and field teams. You will be responsible for overseeing multiple installation sites, managing crews and subcontractors, and ensuring strict quality control.
This is a working supervisory role. The ideal candidate brings a blend of management skills and a gritty work ethic, ready to be hands-on to assist crews on-site and jump into production whenever team numbers are short.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Supervision & Leadership: Manage daily on-site operations, coordinate installation crews, and direct subcontractors to ensure high-quality workmanship.
- Hands-On Assistance: Work alongside the team as needed, stepping in to assist with installation, prep, or layout duties to support the crew and fill labor gaps when shorthanded.
- Project Scheduling: Oversee project timelines from layout to completion, ensuring milestones are met and adjusting schedules as needed.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous quality control checks on prep work, waterproofing, layouts, and final finishes to ensure compliance with company standards and architectural specifications.
- Client & Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, general contractors, and designers, providing regular progress updates and resolving issues professionally.
- Material & Resource Management: Verify on-site material deliveries, manage inventory needs, and coordinate closely with template technicians and suppliers to ensure a seamless workflow.
- Blueprint & Submittal Review: Read and accurately interpret architectural drawings, layouts, and shop drawings to guide installation teams.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce occupational health and safety standards on all job sites, ensuring compliance with Ontario safety regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in project management or site supervision specifically within the tile, stone, or masonry installation industry.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of setting materials, waterproofing systems (e.g., Schluter), substrate preparation, and large-format porcelain/natural stone installation techniques.
- Leadership & Mindset: Proven ability to manage, motivate, and direct a diverse team, paired with a "lead-by-example" attitude and a willingness to get your hands dirty.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to navigate client relationships and resolve site conflicts effectively.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent critical thinking skills to handle unexpected on-site challenges, structural variations, or layout changes.
- Logistics & Travel: Must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle to travel between various job sites across the GTA.
