SUMMARY:
Under general supervision from the Director of Pricing, the Adjustment Analyst will be responsible for communicating with our customer base regarding additional invoice charges incurred after the shipment is in transit.
The successful candidate must be available for the day shift, preferably from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and when necessary, must fulfill other work shifts as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Assist in the management of the adjustments email queue from branches, ensuring emails are handled in chronological order and answered in a timely fashion.
2.Liaise with our customer base, advising them of extra charges, and ensuring records are kept notifying them of additional charges.
3. Review and analyze adjustments, read rates and terms & conditions from contracts, and apply them to shipments.
4. Notify strategic key accounts of accessorial charges via email, document and record occurrences.
5.Understand cubing, linear footage, and correct application to ensure profitability by pro and by outbound trip.
6.Audit interline carrier invoicing to ensure accrual accuracy and correct when necessary.
7.Handle carrier requests for accessorials & adjustments, processing both the carrier payable and customer extra charges.
8. Audit and verify bill to codes, review bill of ladings, and verify accuracy of data entry department to ensure precise invoicing is accomplished.
9.Occasional training of new staff members as needed.
10. Data analysis and manipulation using excel is required.
11.Other tasks as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
· High school diploma required, college diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
·Knowledge of how to apply LTL rates in a transportation environment preferred.
·Good knowledge of mathematics, comfort in working with numbers, and a grasp of profit and loss required (accounting skills welcomed).
·Some knowledge of the transport industry preferred but not mandated.
·Good reporting and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly scrutinize documents.
· Competent in multitasking, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to changing priorities.
·Must be able to work independently, and as part of a team.
·Must be proficient in software programs such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook etc.
· AS400 experience desired, but not essential.
·Some speed in numerical and alphabetical keyboarding necessary.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00-$43,000.00 per year
