Help Desk Technician

The Help Desk Technician is responsible for handling first level support of service requests. This relates to all technology, to include: workstations, servers, printers, networks, and vendor specific hardware and software. The Help Desk Technician will be a first point of contact for client service requests.

  • IT Support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft’s core business applications and operating systems
  • Support of disaster recovery solutions
  • Support services for Microsoft related technologies: Office 365, Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, etc.
  • Support services for virtualization technologies: VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft
  • Basic technical support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security
  • Remote access solution support: VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix
  • Monitor the remote monitoring and management system alerts and notifications, and respond accordingly through service tickets
  • Document maintenance for all computer systems and network infrastructure
  • Communication with clients as required: helping end-users with issue resolution, keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages
  • Support Project Technicians and Network Administrators as required
  • 1 to 2 years of experience

Professional IT Certifications: Level 1 Required

  • CompTIA A+
  • Datto Technical Specialist I

Professional IT Certifications: Level 1 Desired

  • Microsoft MTA/MCP/MCSA - Desktop
  • CompTIA Network+
  • CompTIA Server+
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Watchguard Fireware Essentials & Technical Competencies
  • Datto Technical Specialist II (DCAT)
  • HPE Foundational – Product Certified
  • HPE Aruba Associate
  • VMware VCA

A combination of education and experience will be considered

Salary: $41,000.00 to $50,000.00 /year
