The HMI/iPC Business Development Expert will be responsible for the development and performance of HMI / iPC sales in Ontario & Quebec.

The HMI/iPC Expert will create end user acceptance and specification offering within the industrial segments. This person will drive and implement sales activities for the HMI/iPC (Touch screen Panels, Industrial PC, SW & digital solutions) offer through key partners and customers, along with working with key external influencers to educate, inform and solicit support for Schneider Electric value message and technical developments. This person must ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and continuously drive offer performance and ensure that the channel partners sales plans are in line with the agreed upon strategy for the Industry market segment.

Key focus will be:
  • Responsible for achieving key targets (e.g. volume, price, and mix) for the HMI/iPC line of product through key partners, targeted segment on specific geographic coverage. Creates detailed sales plans, implements with regular follow-up.
  • Account management - Ensures the major accounts in the territory and segment(s) are identified and prioritized. May act as Account Manager for one or more major accounts in the region.
  • Customer relationship - Builds and maintains strong relationships with the key customers in the target segment. Follows up offer’s performance in fulfilling their needs and communicates deficiencies and/or opportunities to the respective Business Units/Product Manager.
  • Contracts and negotiations - Works closely with the relevant Sales organization and channel partners to help in the identification and capture of future business. Drives the capture of end user/third party agreements. Helps negotiate complex legal and commercial frame agreements.
  • Taking technical lead on the HMI multi-channel product line with respect to application and filter-set requirements and technical publications
  • Managing the offer to maintain Schneider close connection with the users of our products
  • Build capability and maintain channel partners relationship by creating detailed sales plans, implements with regular follow-up.
  • Develop a consultative sales approach as a subject matter expert Effectively lead customer technical engagements, including managing and resolving complex systems and networking architectures.
  • Assist with defining requirements for the technology/product road-map to accommodate end user requirements
  • Writing technical notes, white papers and application notes to help notify users of the products features and capabilities
Job Responsibilities:
Screen and identify new applications for HMI/iPC products.
Prepare technical data to address customer needs in product expertise and other areas in support of marketing and business development programs.
Present results as application notes, journal publications, seminar presentations, performance comparisons, case studies, white papers, value analysis and other formats that clearly highlight product benefits to customers.
Help define meaningful and measurable application-based performance specifications.
Conduct experiments with the R&D team during the development of new products to ensure performance meets customer requirements for key applications.
Identify needs, trends, and issues from collaborators and industry thought leaders, and translate into new product and application opportunities.
Manage applications laboratory and demo inventory.
Work with sales team to track, evaluate and develop application opportunities arising from demos.

Qualifications

Requires at least an Engineering degree. in Automation product discipline.
Requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years field experience working with HMI/iPC applications.
Experience in industrial automation market.
Strong leadership and relationship-building skills; supervisory experience is desirable.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional problem-solving ability.
High degree of customer focus.
Goal-oriented and self-motivated with a “can-do” attitude .
Autonomous, entrepreneurial & team spirited
Fluent in English, French beneficial
